Louise & I have booked a holiday… mildly unusual as we’ve spent all our other holidays idling at home, visiting family, in London, camping in the south west or at Sizewell… did I miss anything?
This summer not only have we booked 10 days away… it’s abroad! Apart from a day trip to Bologne with some year 9s about 6 years ago I haven’t left Britain since I was 18 (a long time ago!).
Why Collioure? It’s as far south as we could get in 12 hours from our doorstep without flying 
Just a taxi to the station, train to London (changing at Marks Tey), tube to St Pancras, Eurostarr from St Pancras to Perpignan (changing at Lille for the TGV), then trian to Collioure and a walk to the htel! 12 hours, easy!
Sounds like it is going to be very hot, and probably very busy, in August in the south of France. I’ve already learnt lots of amazing things about Colioure, and I’m sure I’ll bore you with them all here… and practise my long forgotten schoolboy French on you!
