Tomorrow could be interesting. I have an interview for a job with no name. Money, time, responsibility – but no name.
The description is very brief, and woolly:
To take responsibility for:
- The development of e-learning across the school
- The development of the website as a vehicle for raising standards of teahcing and learning
- The development of SIMs as a tool for improving learning
- The introduction of the OCR qualification in ICT at KS3 and KS4
I don’t know what you think. But I’m excited by the opportunity to invest some time and energy into all those new opportunities ICT affords. Blogging, social networks, mobile technologies, email, collaborative tools, social construcivist models of learning. Any of those things can be worked into it
At least the parts about OCR Nationals & SIMs are clearer. Although I’m not sure how long an “introduction” takes? Is that one morning, or the first year?
The cleverest thing is that my employers have now taken away my best excuses of “it’s not my job” and “it needs someone to take responsibility”. I get to help, enthuse, train, model, communicate, collaborate, investigate and implement all those ideas. I’m being very careful not to call them good ideas.
So, if appointed, I should have fewer excuses for our school not using ICT to enrich lives, enhance learning and enable achievement.
Stay tuned here, maybe even use the RSS feed, to find out what happens next. One idea is to blog every working day until the summer (35 days) to record my progress. Expect to hear more about my “job with no name”.
Any suggestions for a suitable job title or ideas to investigate would be very gratefully received. Add a comment.
